Happy Holidays

Celebrate the holidays enjoying food!
Close your eyes and remember your favorite Christmas dinner as a child. Remember the smell in the kitchen and the happiness of the whole house waiting for the delicious dinner to come, with excess food, laughter and the feeling of being part of the same family or community. So many good traditions! We need to continue these traditions so that our children can have these memories as adults, so that they also have this experience of pleasure without guilt at the table.

I wish you all Happy Holidays and a wonderful dining experience at mealtimes!

I do not recommend having a light New Year’s Eve meal as I see many encouraging these days. Please do not just pick turkey breast and broccoli to make this dinner but include dark meat, fat, potatoes or other delicious foods.

For one day, forget your diet mentality encouraged by the supposed guardians of health and enjoy the moments that are good for the soul!

The secret is to enjoy the food without rushing; instead, savor slowly and take your time to eat.

Our body can handle occasional excesses without any difficulty. It will not store fat if you behave calmly and enjoy the pleasure of eating. It is natural for a human being to eat in excess sometimes. Think of our ancestors when they managed to kill an animal. They partied and ate a lot!

You may want to have a light snack in the afternoon so as to not reach dinner too hungry and rush to the food. If you are not too hungry, it will be easier to enjoy the pleasure of eating without too much excess.
Also do not diet the following days with a guilty feeling about what you ate. Restrictions tend to lead to over compensation later! This is especially true for people who are always dieting and tend to go from one extreme to another.

The pleasure of eating is essential to a healthy relationship with food. Try to eat slowly, focus on good food and on the people who are with you, and enjoy the moment. Always be aware of what is in your mouth and chew slowly to release all the flavors.

To be happy and recover fast from these parties, stay hydrated by consuming water, tea, broth or soup, and eat more fruits and vegetables. Also do not forget a nice walk with the people you love.

Happy Holidays!
Bon appétit!
